Research activities

Interests. Category theory; weak double categories; weak or lax higher categories of cubical or multiple type; functorial factorisations.
Homological algebra; its interactions with distributive lattices and orthodox semigroups; representations of spectral sequences; non-abelian extensions.
Foundations of homotopy theory. Coherence in higher dimensional homotopy theory and higher dimensional category theory. Coherent algebras. Homotopy categories, weak limits and weak subobjects, homotopical exactness. Higher fundamental groupoids.
Combinatorial homotopy and homology, with applications to the analysis of images.
Directed Algebraic Topology; directed homotopy and homology of simplicial sets, cubical sets, directed spaces, inequilogical spaces, etc. Higher fundamental categories and lax categories. Weighted Algebraic Topology. Links with noncommutative geometry.
Categories of cospans and cobordisms.
