Anna Maria Massone CNR - INFM LAMIA, Genova, Italy Email: annamaria.massone (at) cnr.it Group 1 Contribution: The uv_smooth method processes RHESSI visibilities to obtain images of flaring sources in either the count or the electron space. The ideas at the basis of this approach are to 1) interpolate the information among the measured visibilities by applying a two-dimensional spline algorithm in the uv-plane; 2) reduce the ringing effects by imposing a positivity constraint in the physical space of the image. In this presentation the robustness, rapidity and generality of uv_smooth are discussed by using both simulated examples and real measurements. A demonstration of the processing from the RHESSI GUI will be also given. Finally, future developments of the software including an assessment of the reconstruction error based on a Monte Carlo approach will be itemized. Group 3 Contribution: -
